Lenya Heitzig, an award-winning author, began in women's ministry in Youth With a Mission as a single women's counselor. After her term in YWAM she married Skip Heitzig. Together they began Calvary of Albuquerque, one of the fastest growing churches nationwide, with over 14,000 members. Since 1984, Lenya has served as Director of Women at Calvary, establishing and teaching weekly Bible studies for women, yearly retreats, and seasonal conferences. She served on the Executive Committee for New Mexico Festival '98 with Franklin and Billy Graham. She spearheaded the Southwest Women's Festival drawing women from Colorado, Arizona, California, and New Mexico with over 3,000 in attendance. A dynamic and gifted Bible expositor, Lenya packs her messages with deep insights, contemporary relevance, and tenderness whether speaking to a group of pastor's wives, a weekly Bible study group, a leadership conference in Europe, or a large inter-denominational seminar. She has a compelling voice and profound message that are well worth circulating in print.
Through Tyndale House Publishers, Lenya co-authored the award winning Pathway Bible journals: Pathway to God’s Treasure: Ephesians; Pathway to God’s Plan: Ruth and Esther; and Pathway to Living Faith: James. She was a major contributor to the New Women’s Devotional Bible from Zondervan. Her latest book, Holy Moments: Recognizing God’s Fingerprints in Your Life was released in November of 2006 by Regal Books.
A gifted communicator, Lenya is a sought-after speaker at conferences and retreats coast-to-coast. Lenya’s passion is to teach her audience that God’s Word does God’s work.
She and her husband Skip have one adult son: Nathan.
