Toben Heim - Author Biography
![]() |
Toben Heim graduated From Whitworth College in the lush Northwest in 1993 with a degree in Communication Studies and lots of experience in long, all-night student government meetings as the vice president of the student body. Shortly after, Toben and his wife Joanne moved to Paris for a few months where Joanne worked for a French software company and Toben bummed around the City of Lights.
Upon returning to the U.S., Toben began his professional career as a sales representative for NavPress Publishing Group, traveling the Northeast visiting bookstores. During the next 10 years Toben had 10 different jobs with Navpress, ranging from sales to marketing to publisher for The Message Bible.
Since leaving Navpress, Toben has worked for Youth Specialties, an organization that trains tens of thousands of youth workers every year through its events and resources. On the side, Toben has his own business, helping cool companies with brand development, marketing and ideation (a fancy word for coming up with cool ideas).
When he¹s not hanging out with Joanne and the girls Audrey (8) and Emma (5), you can find Toben on the golf course, reading a good book or checking out new bands at the Apple iTunes store.
Toben is the coauthor (with his lovely wife Joanne) of Happily Ever After: A Real-Life Look at Your First Year of Marriage (NavPress, 2000, 2004 and Kregel, 2006), Mosiaxstudy.com/Community (NavPress, 2001), Mosaixstudy.com/Men&Women (NavPress, 2001) and What¹s Your Story? An Interactive Guide to Building Community (Pinon Press, 1999). His current project is called Wrecked, which he is writing with his close friend Ryan Dobson. Wrecked will be published by Multnomah in early 2008.
