Laurel Seiler Brunvoll - Author Biography

Since her mother’s death in 1994, Laurel Seiler Brunvoll has been passionate about helping the critically ill learn to cope better in the midst of crisis. She conducts workshops and seminars for community groups, hospice organizations, churches, and counseling groups. She co-authored Life on Hold: Finding Hope in the Face of Serious Illness (Multnomah Publishers, 2001) with her father, David G. Seiler, Ph.D.
Laurel has two books scheduled for release in May 2007 by Thomas Nelson Publishers, Inc. Her love of family is the inspiration behind this companion set, which celebrate grandparents and those who adore them through fun-loving, anecdotal true stories. All My Bad Habits I Learned from Grandpa gives special tribute to the mischief and playfulness of grandfathers; and All My Good Habits I Learned from Grandma captures the charm and sweetness of grandmothers.
Laurel has also had more than 800 articles published in both national and local magazines and newspapers including New Body Health & Fitness, The Sports Parade, Salem Evening News, Montgomery Business Gazette, Still Point, On Mission, and Washington Techway.
In addition, she has been featured on many national and local television and radio programs around the country, including: Fox 4 News in Dallas, Texas; At Home Live with Chuck and Jenni Borsellino, Time for Hope with Dr. Freda Crews; Decision Today (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association); Moody’s Mid Morning; and Christian Doctors Digest (Christian Medical Association).
Laurel lives in Maryland with her husband, Steven, and two sons. She enjoys playing the flute with her church’s worship team and being involved with children’s ministry and Community Bible Study. Besides writing, Laurel’s favorite activities are hanging out with her boys, scuba diving, sportfishing and boating, and reading a good book at the beach.
